Waheed Murad was a well-known Pakistani actor. He was born in Sialkot, Pakistan on 2nd October 1938. He won the hearts of the viewers because of his eye-catchy look and attractive personality. That’s why he was called a chocolate hero. He was not only an actor but also had the talent for producing and scriptwriting. He had ruled and still ruling on the hearts of the Pakistani as well as Indian public. His name is remembered among the top actors of South Asia. He died on 23rd November 1983. FAMILY AND EDUCATION
The father of Waheed Murad was Nisar Murad who was a film distributor. His mother's name was Shireen Murad. This fabulous actor achieved his Bachelor's Degree from S. M Arts College Karachi. Then did his Master's from The University of Karachi in English Literature. When he was a young boy of 21 years. He worked in the movie Saathi in 1959. He got married to a girl Salma whose father was an industrialist in Karachi. Allah blessed them with 03 kids (two daughters and one son). The daughter's names are Alia and Sadia and son Adil. Waheed Murad daughter Saida died in childhood.

CAREER IN FILM INDUSTRY
Waheed Murad debuted in the film industry as a producer in 1961 when his
father established the film Insann Badalta hai. He produced a second movie jab se
dekha hai tumen. He cast Darpan and Zeba in that movie as leading actors. Darpan
would come to the film studio late, due to which Zeba suggested the producer cast himself as the hero in the subsequent movie, but Waheed didn’t agree to
appear as a hero in his own film. When his old friend Pervez Malik also offered
the same suggestion. Then he agreed on the condition that Zeba would work as
co-star with him. Zeba also expressed her consent.

For the first time, he worked in the film AULAAD as a supporting actor
which was released in 1962. This movie received much fame and praise from
critics too. AULAAD won Nigar Award as the best film of the year. Afterward, he
appears as the leading actor (hero) in the film Heera aur pathar. This time he got
Nigar Award as best actor in this movie in the same year.
In 1966 his film Armaan was released, whose producer and actor
Waheed Muraad which was gone super doper hit and dismissed the records of all
movies at that time. This movie was continuously playing in cinemas for more
than one and a half years. The Chocolate hero won two Nigar Awards as best
producer and best actor in regard to this movie.
In 1967 he appeared in 5 top movies, Dewar bhabi, Doraha,
Insaniat and Man bap. Waheed Murad acted in lots of movies in the company of
Pervez Malik, Masroor Anwar, Sohail Rana, Ahmad Rushdi and Zeba. These movies
including hira aur Pathar, Arman, Ihsan, Doraha & jahan Tum Waha ham. This
group used to work under ‘Film Art’, but after some time this group detached
and Pervez Malik started to make his films by casting new actors.
In his 25-years of filmi career, he coupled with many talented
and gorgeous actresses containing Zeba, Shabnam, Shamim Ara, Naghma, Alia,
Sangita, Kayeet, Asia, Deeba, Babra Sharif, Rukhsana, Bahaar Begam and Neelo. He
performed in a total of 124 movies in which 38 were B&W films while the remaining 86
were color. Out of his total movies, 115 were in Urdu, 8 movies in Punjabi and 1
in Pushto language.

UNPLEASANT EVENTS IN LIFE
By the end of 1970, he would act as a supporting actor with a Nadeem or with Muhammad Ali. Many actresses were not permitted to work with Waheed Murad as actresses like Zeba, Nisho, Shabnam. From some sources, it transpired that he became a smoker and drinker because of which Waheed murad wife left for the United States. That’s why he was suffering from severe stomach problems (bleeding), consequently hospitalized but fortunately, he recovered. During his days in the hospital, all the renewed actors went to him for blood donation but Allah saved his life. After recovered from such fatal diseases, he was aged and also lost his beauty but his sincere friends Iqbal Akhtar and Iqbal Yousaf cast him in their movies, Dil ne per yad kia and Ghairao. These two persons proved their selves as his true friends in a crucial time
WAHEED MURAD DEATH
Waheed Murad son was residing
in Karachi with his grandmother. In November 1983, Waheed had gone to Karachi to celebrate his
only son Adil's birthday. He returned and stayed in the home of Mumtaz Ayub
home. He was slept at late night but didn’t wake up. The people present at home
opened the door and found him dead in the Room. His death cause was not
acknowledged that he expired due to heart failure or committed suicide.
