Samina Peerzada is a popular actress of Pakistan who was born in Lahore, Pakistan, on 9th August 1945. Besides being an actress, producer, director, and activist, she has worked in film and television.
Samina
belongs to a Kashmiri family. Her father was Moinuddin Butt, and her mother was Almas Butt.
Career
She began
her career in 1982 and decided to pursue a career in television. In the drama serial "Darya"
aired on PTV, she played a runaway wife, in that role her life is spent
marrying into the tribe and living simply.
In 1994, she
starred along with Samia Mumtaz, Azra Butt, Madeeha Gohar, and Salman Shahid in
another PTV drama serial directed by Shahid Nadeem, "Zard Dopehar".
Her many
roles in Pakistani hit dramas have continued over the years.
It's no secret that she has worked in a number of Pakistani dramas. One of the most notable is "Dil Diya Dehleez" in which Samina Peerzada worked with Faisal Shah, Hiba Ali, and Sara Chaudhry. Her character in this drama was Sheher Bano.
Her performance in "Meri Zaat, Zara-e-Benishan", a story about Saba and her daughter, is another impressive one. She played a role called Tai Amma in this drama. Geo TV aired that drama.
The super
hit drama she starred in alongside Mehreen Raheel, Sanam Saeed, and Fawad Khan
for Hum TV. As one of the top dramas of 2012, this drama was based on Umera
Ahmed's original novel.
There were eleven Arab countries, European
countries, Iran, and India that broadcast this drama. There is a strong female protagonist
in the drama who depicts two people with opposing opinions and economic
statuses.
During her
acting in this drama, she became Kalhaf's mother, Rafia, and developed a
favorable reputation as a supportive actress due to which she was awarded Hum Award.
Her most
famous heroine role was in the Pakistani anthology drama telefilm "Kitni
Girhain Baqi Hain" based on real-life events.
As a
director, Samina Peerzada directed the film "Inteha" in 1999. In addition to being the director,
Samina is also the writer. The aim of this film was to
address the problem of marital rape in a social context.
Her next
film, Shararat, was a mediocre Pakistani romantic comedy film released in 2003.
It focuses on a
Pakistani-American who falls in love with a girl from his native village in
Punjab.
In 2017, she
appeared in the American drama film, the movie was called "The Valley" and featured
Pakistani actor Alyy Khan and US actors, suchitra Pillai, and Jake T. Austin.
Samina Peerzada Family
Her father's
name was Moinuddin Butt and her mother's name is Almas Butt. She has two
brothers. Their names are Faizan and Salman. She was married to Usman Peerzada
in 1975. These stars met in 1973 and, after a period of 02 years, decided
to get married with mutual agreement.
The couple
has two daughters their names are Anum Perzada and Amal Peerzada.

- A Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to her at the Bradford Beyond the Mango Film Festival in November 2013.
- During the 3rd Hum Awards held in Dubai in April 2015, she received another Lifetime Achievement Award for Excellence in Television.
- A total of nine national awards have been presented to Samina Peerzada for her directorial debut in the film 'Inteha'.
- A Hum Award for Best Supporting Actress was given to her for Roshan Sitara in 2013.
- For Zindagi Gulzar Hai in 2014, she again received the Hum Award.
