Sanam comes from a Sindhi family. She has five siblings including 02 brothers and 03 sisters. The names of her three sisters are Sabreen Hasbani, Maheen Baloch, and Ghawna Baloch and her brothers are Abbas Baloch and Farhan Baloch. In place of her father's name, Sanam uses her mother's name cast.

Altaf Sheikh is her father and Maria Baloch is her mother. Among her five siblings, one Farhan Baloch is also an actor and worked in modeling. He appeared in Sindhi dramas and sang Sindhi songs as well.

Baloch married her colleague Abdullah Farhatullah on 12 October 2013 in Karachi in a simple nikah ceremony. Her husband is a singer, songwriter, and host.

Their friendship began while working for Samaa TV. Her name was changed to Sanam Abdullah after she got married.

The couple remained together for about 05 years but due to some unknown reasons, they got separated in 2018. Sanam confirmed the divorce in October 2018.
