Moin Akthar was born on 24 December 1950 in Karachi, Sindh province, Pakistan. His father’s name was Muhammad Ibrahim Mehboob, who was an elder person but didn’t live alive when his son Moheen Akhtar died. He passed away at the age of 92 years a few months later after his son’s death. The father of Moin Akhtar was born in Muradabad India. He owned his printing press and also served in the garments trade. When Pakistan emerged on the map of the world. He migrated to Karachi. Moin Akhtar age was 60 years when died on 22 April 2011.

H   He was the asset of Pakistan Television, who possessed all qualities as an actor. Moin was a comedian, copycat, host, writer, singer, director, and producer. Apart from having so many qualities he used to speak many languages with fluency like Bengali, Urdu, Pashto, Sindhi, Punjabi, Gujrati, and Momeni. He started his work with co-actors Bushra Ansari and Anwar Maqsood in the period of Radio Pakistan. A chain of his programs and other plays started which came to an end after 45 years i.e this outstanding man spent the forty-five years of his life for PTV. He won the hearts of the viewers and popularity with his drama Rozi in which he played the role of the female with unbelievable performance.

Moin had two sons and one daughter. Moin Akhtar son Mansoor Akhtar was elder and his younger son was Sharjeel Akhar and his daughter Nausheen Akhtar. He has two brothers namely Shafiqe Anwar and Muhammad Aslam. Sharjeel the second son of this unusual star did his graduation from New York, USA and presently employed at the Habib University Karachi. Moin’s Career

He started his career when he was a kid of 13 years. he played the role of Shylock in Shakespeare’s The Merchant of Venice in the theater. The funny side of Akthar was very active and multitalented. For the first time, he appears on television on 6th September 1966 in a show in the celebration of Pakistan’s defense day.  In 1966, he attracted the attention of viewers when imitated the Hollywood actor Anthony Quinn and one of John F Kennedy’s speeches. In that show, Moin also showed a parody of the former president. Subsequently, he played the magic of skills in numerous roles in stage shows aired on PTV.

Among moin akhtar drama list, the best was a classical drama Rozi telecasted on PTV back in 1990. It was basically an adaption of an American film called “Tootsie (1982). This drama gave a deep meaning and ridicule to the public. Akthar played the leading character of Rozi, a female in this drama. Rozi drama cast or co-actors were Fazeela Qazi (Nazia), Fariha Altaf (Shahana), Akbar Subhani (Rasheed), Hameed Wayne (Nazia’s father), Latif Kapadia (doctor), and Sahira Kazmi (Miss Fozia). The writer was Imran Saleem and director Sahira Kazmi.

AS A HOST:

Moin hosted many more shows but it’s a matter of pride for him that he hosted such shows in which notable personalities were invited. Like Prime Minister of Gambia, Dawoodi Al-joza, former president Zia-ul-Haq (late), former Prime Minister of Pakistan Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto (late), former president Ghulam Ishaq (late),  former president General Yahya Khan (late), former president Pervez Musharraf, Indian film star Dilip Kumar.

LAST MOMENTS/DEATH:

Moin Akhtar death cause/reason was heart disease. He was a heart patient who suffered a heart attack before and was under treatment. On 22 April 2011 at evening, he again suffered from a heart attack, and this time he didn’t survive and died leaving one widow, two sons, and a daughter. The funeral procession of Moin was attended by thousands of VIPs. Thought Pakistan the people expressed deep grief for his demise. The Indian actors also remarked his life conveyed their sorrows to Pakistan. His funeral prayer was offered on Saturday in Tauheed Masjid in DHA Phase II, Malir Cantt, near his home.
