Badar Munir was a Pakistani resident, a Pashto film star, and a director as well. He was born in Swat in 1940 in the Indo-Pak sub-continent. By profession, he was an actor. He not only inspired the public by his acting in Pashto movies but also worked in Urdu movies. He was much popular in Pakistani people particularly among Pathan of Khyber Pakthunkhwa. He performed in 400 movies in Urdu and Pashto from 1970 to 2002.

When Badar Munir had not joined the film industry. He was a poor person. Then by some means, he met an actor of Urdu movies Waheed Murad. Who supported him and brought him to the world of movies. The first film of this Pashtun hero was Yousaf Khan Sherbano with a popular heroin Yasmin Khan.

Badar Munir Passed away on October 11, 2008, left 10 children among whom five are girls and five are boys. His first son namely Syed Munir also joined Pashto film industry and worked in several movies. The list of famous movies of Badar Munir is below:-

   Yousaf Khan Sherbano first ever movie of Badar Munir

Yousaf khan sherbano was the most popular movie of badar munir which was released in December, 1970 and went super hit Pashto movie through out Khyber pakthunkhwa (Former NWFP). Yasmin khan was heroin who enhanced the beauty and suspense of this movie. it was directed by Aziz Tabassum and produced by Syed Nazir Hussain, Shafi Qazi, Madan Ali Madan. Its wirtter was Ali Haidar Joshi and poet of the songs as well. The singers were Rehana Yasmin, Nighat Akbar, Hadayat Ullah. The music was prepared by Lal Mohammad Iqbal. In this movie a story of yousaf khan and sherbano was pasteurized which is still alive in the minds of pathan. That’s why the movie got much popularity in 1970s and till date the movie has been watching by the people.
