Former
Pakistani television actor Sajjad Kishwar died at the age of 89. Sajjad
Kishwar was born in Punjab, India, in 1933. During his career, he starred in
numerous Pakistani films and television shows.
During his
60 years long career, he mainly worked for Pakistan television's Islamabad
station and starred in many popular dramas.
After a
lengthy illness, he passed away in Rawalpindi.
Sajjad
Kishwar, the veteran actor, died on 24 May 2022. His funeral prayers will be
offered in Rawalpindi's Committee Chowk.
He has
performed in a number of hit performances and established himself as a notable
actor.
Many awards
have been bestowed upon Sajjad Kishwar over the years, including the life achievement
Awards and the Pakistan Television Awards.
In
recognition of his contributions to Radio Pakistan, he won a lifetime
achievement award.
Some of his
notable dramas include Raizgari, Akhri Shab, and Waris. One of his most notable films was
Aaina, followed by Zindagi, Meherbani, and Khuda Kay Liye.
In addition,
he was an accomplished poet. It is a great loss to the Pakistani media and television industry that he
has passed away, and Pakistanis will always remember his work.
