In a recent Instagram post, Hadiqa Kiani expressed her joy at having worked with director Danish Nawaz. Director Nawaz is behind the HUM TV drama Dobara whose main character Mehru (played by Kiani) is quite a talking point.
In drama after
her husband's death, Mehru experiences a personal reawakening. The way her husband viewed her during
their marriage stifled her sense of self. Sarwat Nazir wrote the play, which was produced by Momina
Duraid Productions.
On
Instagram, Kiani posted a picture of herself with Nawaz. She commended the director of Dobara,
the incomparable Danish Nawaz. As she shared, "I wanted to take a moment to thank Danish Nawaz, the
incomparable director of Dobara.

She added
that Danish, on top of being exceptionally hard-working, talented, respectful,
and honest, also has a keen eye for detail. He truly understood Dobara and
directed it in a way that accentuated the nuances of the script and its
characters. I am delighted to have worked on this project with such great
collaborators."
As Kiani
explained in an interview she gave in December, her role in Dobara is a chance
for self-discovery.
It is
important for Kiani not to lose herself in the character types she chooses to
portray; characters that are drowning in "the feeling of loneliness,
suffocation, being defined by other people, and being navigated by them".
On
television, Kiani's second task is drama Dobara. Featuring nuanced dialogue, unique characters and a
stellar cast, Raqeeb Se (2021) was a hit with both viewers and critics.
The project
is not Nawaz's first success, naturally. He also directed Chupke Chupke, the award-winning 2021 drama
starring Osman Khalid Butt, Ayeza Khan and Mira Sethi.
